We are honoring Henry David Thoreau’s 200 Birthday with this miniature by Willy Petersen. Born on July 12, 1817 Thoreau was an author, naturalist, teacher and historian. Best known for his time living alone in a tiny cabin on the shore of Walden Pond he observed and studied all the flora and fauna around him. In his book Walden he wrote, “Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in” which is the inspiration for this sculpture. Meticulously hand painted and finished with a satin glaze. Signed and numbered by the artist and limited to 300.
